Calla Lily Flower Earrings

This week I wanted to write little bit about my Calla Lily flowers which I re-listed in my Etsy shop little while ago.

Calla Lily flower earrings were first jewelry that I made at my friend´s shop when she was an entrepreneur in a gift in the local mall.

My first Calla Lily flower earrings were pretty simple. I had ear wires and in the end of long wire hanged the Calla Lily. It´s a such a shame that I don´t even have photo to show you what kind earrings they were originally until I re-designed them. They were pretty popular to sell in person. Unfortunately, my friend had to quit her job since working hours were like 60 hours per week like most entrepreneur would know that starting company require much time.

I started to look new place to sell my handmade jewelry and found Etsy. I´ve been there since 2012. Year later I opened second shop as BlueBellJewelry.

Now BlueBellJewelry is more focused on modern bohemian style jewelry that I design, make and photograph myself.

I personally love Calla Lilies simple look and in fact, the Calla Lily means beauty. Because Calla Lilies are so beautiful flowers, I would love to had one for my grandma when she passed away few years ago. She was always so kind and helpful.

Calla lilies also symbolizes brilliance and truth. Calla lily is attractive flower and many used them in their wedding bouquet.

BlueBellJewelry have many Calla Lily earrings in various colors where you can pick your favorite color. Earrings can be customize too and for that, I offer three different options - silver plated, gold plated or bronze. All earrings have new design and they now available in worldwide!

1st row: Petrol Blue, Peach, Light Orange and Water Blue
2nd row: Dark Green, Orange, Green and Blue
3rd row: Light Pink, White, Red and Yellow
4th row: Pink, Hot Pink, Gray and Purple

All flowers have genuine Swarovski Crystal bead to bring subtle amount sparkle. The redesigned flower earrings exudes vintage style and suitable for both everyday and special occasions.

Have Beautiful Autumn!

Boost Your Purposes With Rings

I love to wear rings and when I was younger, I usually worn silver rings in my left hand and golden ones in my right. Now I´m just wearing silver rings and most of time I don´t wear any rings although I have made many beautiful pieces for my other Etsy shop.

Left and right hands are usually divided receiving hand and giving hand. Usually the left hand is the receiving one and right hand is giving hand. What this actually means?

With the left hand, you receive energy. Left hand associated with creativity and it´s your feminine side so called yin side. Work on the left hand to get or elaborate specific qualities or skills.

With the right hand you give energy to the outside world. Right hand associated with physical action and this side is masculine side so called yang side. Work on the right hand to share specific qualities or skills to other people.

Don’t Forget To Accessorize!

Are you those people who have multiple projects going at the same time and you constantly rushing everywhere? If say yes, please take some time to read my blog post.

I’m one of those person who have always multiple projects going, I do little that and little other thing, third thing and so on. My head is full of ideas and I constantly perform different task thinking that after this I have time. Because of constant rush, I usually forget to put any jewelry although I have many beautiful pieces that my friends have given me and some I made. Why? Because I haven’t planned them beforehand!

This one of my favorite quote but this only applies when you speak English. In Finnish we probably can say this: "I only wear jewelry on days ending with "I" that way only Wednesday will be out since it´s only day that ends with letter "O".

Jewelry is a necessary accessory that will give beautiful finish to you outfit whether you dress casually home day, date night or office. Many forget to add jewelry in their outfit when they’re heading in their busy day. Me is one of them so how this can be avoided?

Many people have beautiful jewelry in their jewelry box and sometimes you might you make discoveries in your jewelry box and wonder why you haven’t wear this lovely piece of jewelry for a long time? Sounds too familiar?

Here’s my tips how to use more jewelry in everyday:

1. Plan your beforehand your entire week’s outfit in one day or evening whatever time suits you best

2. When you have planned your entire week’s outfit and hanged them in separate hangers, take your jewelry box and plan your jewelry. They’re as much important as how you dress to your work place

3. Place necklace in your hanger’s loop so you can see how the necklace will look like

4. Place your selected bracelets into your hanger’s loop with your necklace if ended up using the bracelet

5. Hang your earrings in the blouse button hole if they’re dangle earrings and if they’re stud earrings, place them next to your car keys or home keys so you can add the earrings while you’re heading into your busy day

If you have table or chair where you can leave your next day outfit, fold them lightly and leave your selected shoes in front of chair. Place selected jewelry on the clothes so you will remember to add them too.

You can also put your jewelry up for the next day like Christina from Lakemanhaus do:

 These are her favorite things:

• striped rainbow cardigan

• beaded hoop earrings

• leather diffuser necklace

• English oak & red currant oil

• circle ring

• grey booties

I love the way how she shows her jewelry. This way you can easily see how the jewelry will look with your selected outfit and I´m sure you will use these jewelry when you have put them up in front.

Lakemanhaus have beautiful handcrafted jewelry with custom possibilities which she makes from high quality materials. Visit her shop here: Lakemanhaus

I used plan my whole week outfits and jewelry every Sunday evening what I will wear each day when I went to Interior Designer school. This planning saved precious minutes from my morning when I felt that I needed to rush already to school again. Plus I didn’t needed to “fight” with my closet that this shirt doesn’t feel good this morning. My usual conversation with closet went before planning something like this: “ Oh, did I take again this shirt, not this one, where the heck is that nice shirt that I desperately want to wear today. “

Planning your outfit and your accessories beforehand saves your morning time and your nerves when you most likely have busiest time.

I hope these tips helps you to wear more often your beautiful jewelry and if you feel that you need to buy some new jewelry, you are warmly welcome to visit my BlueBellJewelry’s Etsy shop to check what’s new.

Autumn & Winter 2020 Trend Colors

Colors are so many way important to us. As a jewelry maker I love to use different shade beads in my work and they are also very crucial part of my interior designer work. You automatically choose your day outfit by color and that represent how you feel today.

Colors affect our state of mind and how we experience each other or how we feel some room - does the room feel cramped or airy and bright?

Colors are vital to us, everywhere we walk we are always surrounded by various colors whether it´s co-workers dress, the office where you work, your home or when you walk in the nature.

This blog post I focus what are trend colors in this season. I use Pantone´s color chart since it´s more worldwide but of course trend colors may also vary slightly from country to country. Here in Finland, most trend colors come in little delay as many things too.

Trend colors for Fall and Winter:

Pantone 16-1350, Amberglow
A radiant Autumnal orange, Amberglow promotes self-confidence and creative self-expression.

Amberglow is a strong color and if you own this shade shirt, I would combine it preferably with golden tone, rose gold, bronze or copper tone jewelry. Also gunmetal color jewelry works with this shade.

Pantone 19-1662, Samba
A voluptuous sultry red, Samba introduces an upbeat energy.

Samba color is red with hue of brown. With this color I would combine gold, rose gold or silver tone jewelry. Copper, gunmetal and bronze color jewelry might blend too much in this color and wouldn´t stand out at their best.

Pantone 16-1328, Sandstone
Tied to nature, earthy Sandstone speaks of the rustic outdoors.

Sandstone is little bit "dirty pink" since shade has pink blend with brown. With this shade I would combine gold or rose gold tone jewelry. I wouldn´t use bronze, copper or gunmetal tone jewelry since the contrast would be too high.

Pantone 19-4052, Classic Blue
A boundless blue hue, Classic Blue is evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky opening us up to a world of possibilities.

Classic blue is a nice and elegant shade of blue. With this deep blue I would recommend to use silver tone jewelry or jewelry that sparkles like diamonds, rhinestones and crystals if you have fancy gala where you are attending. I wouldn´t use bronze, copper or gunmetal tone jewelry since they won´t stand out from this shade.

Pantone 13-0648, Green Sheen
Optimistically rebellious, Green Sheen is a bold acidic yellow-green shade that will always stand out.

Green Sheen shade is in my opinion more like lime green. On the runway is much seen Celery green which is more like pale green shade but this Green Sheen is mainly yellow tone with hint if green. With this color (as celery green) I would use gold or rose gold tone jewelry. They will complete beautifully this shade.

Pantone 16-1511, Rose Tan
A gently dusky pink, Rose Tan imparts a sense of composure.

Rose Tan is a lovely pink shade. This is pure shade that will look best when you wear gold or rose gold tone jewelry. This shade doesn´t rule out silver or copper tone jewelry which will work too but not so well than gold or rose gold. Gunmetal tone jewelry might add too high contrast and insist other black clothes in order to work with this pink shade.

Pantone 18-5338, Ultramarine Green
Ultramarine Green, a deep cooling blue-green exudes self-assurance and poise.

Ultramarine green is mainly green shade with hint of blue. Casually I would say that this color is more like teal. With this shade I would combine silver or gold tone jewelry which works best and jewelry will stand out nicely. I woudn´t use bronze, copper or rose gold jewelry since they won´t stand out at their best from this shade.

Pantone 19-1337, Fired Brick
Strong and sturdy, Fired Brick adds gravitas.

Fired brick shade is more brown shade with hint of red. With this earthy shade I would combine gold and rose gold jewelry which will stand out at their best from this shade. Bronze and copper tone jewelry would be too similar with this shade so if you wear bronze or copper tone jewelry with this fired brick shade, the jewelry will be invisible. Gunmetal tone jewelry will create dark look and jewelry won´t stand out its best. If you like to create high contrast with this fired brick color, you can also use silver tone jewelry.

Pantone 14-1220, Peach Nougat
Nurturing Peach Nougat embraces with its inviting warmth.

Peach Nougat is a lovely pale pink shade which my friend likes. This color will look best when you wear gold or rose gold tone jewelry but work nicely with silver tone jewelry too. Bronze, copper and gunmetal tone jewelry will stand out from this color too but they might create too high contrast since this shade is very delicate.

Pantone 19-2428, Magenta Purple
A hypnotic purple shade, Magenta Purple intrigues and mesmerizes.

Magenta Purple is one of my personal favorite color. I´m so happy that this lovely purple shade is one of the trend color this season. With this royal shade of purple I would use silver tone jewelry. Wearing gold or rose gold jewelry will soften this purple shade. Bronze, copper and gunmetal tone jewelry will work too but they won´t stand out from this shade.

Classics:

Each season includes couple classic colors that are usually neutral tone. These shades are most easiest ones to combine with your outfit or choose your jewelry by these colors.

Pantone 12-0713, Almond Oil
Tasteful Almond Oil is a smooth and subtle off-white shade.

Almond Oil shade delicate white shade with hint of yellow. This is excellent alternative choice of pure white. Add gold or rose gold tone jewelry with this shade in order to create elegant look. Also pearl jewelry will look gorgeous with this shade especially if you jewelry are gold with pearl detail. Other jewelry metals might create too high contrast since this shade bends more in warm than cold.

Pantone 19-3940, Blue Depths
Blue Depths implies an air of mystery and the unknown.

Blue Depths is really mystery shade. Everyone remember Titanic movie where Kate Winslet worn "Heart of the Ocean" necklace. This shade will look best with silver tone jewelry. Gold and rose gold tone jewelry will look also great but won´t create as elegant look than wearing silver tone jewelry.

Pantone 16-3916, Sleet
Highlighting our desire for longevity, Sleet is a timeless gray that is dependable, solid and everlasting.

Sleet shade is a nice light blue shade that will work best with silver tone jewelry since this shade goes more cold shade than warm shade. This shade won´t rule out bronze, copper, gold or rose gold tone jewelry.

Pantone 19-0622, Military Olive
Military Olive is a strong and stalwart foundational green tone.

Military Olive green is a nice green shade that works best with gold tone jewelry which soften this shade. This shade won´t rule out rose gold tone jewelry. Gunmetal, bronze or copper tone jewelry won´t stand out in their best from this shade.

Have a colorful Autumn and feel free to comment if you found your favorite color from these or did you  found new color that you like to try in this season? For me, new colors that I´m trying to find this season will be Ultramarine green and Blue Depths.

Jewelry Fashion In Different Decades, Part 1

My friend gave me idea to write about jewelry fashion in different decades. I must say that this topic is also have been interesting me too.

When I was child, I love to watch movies. Back to 80´s women usually had in movies natural looking almond shape nails and jewelry. I have always love sparkling jewelry. So this blog post journey starts in 20´s and we are going through all the way back n 90´s.

Jewelry Fashion in 20´s

1920´s jewelry took turn to simplicity and Art Deco "modernism" in all styles from rings to necklaces and bracelets. Long pearl flapper necklaces, large gemstone brooches, bangles, bracelets and sparkling filigree rings are all icon of the 1920s. Earrings were long drops that exposed bare necks.

Not all pearl necklaces were long or worn in a single strand. It was popular to wear layers of them in various lengths from 60 inches or on up. Longer pearls were fashionable in the early twenties and were getting shorter as the decade progressed.

In 1920´s jewelry were simple but colorful for daywear. Elegant white crystals were worn in daytime and black crystals for evening. Necklaces were single strands  of beads or pearls, some with tassel ends running over 20 inches long and often tied in a knot. Bracelets were thick cuff gemstones or rounded bangles. Black, red, orange, teal and sage were popular colors for gems and beads in daywear jewelry.

In 1950´s jewelry trend were lucite, plastics. Popular jewelry metal colors were yellow-toned gold and trendy rose gold. Jewelry design were clean, colorful, ornate and perfectly coordinate with an outfit. Women worn also matching jewelry sets which is called parure. In 1950´s women wore often matching earrings, brooches, rings, necklaces and sometimes bracelets.

Pearls had been a popular choice of jewelry past few decades but in the 1950´s, pearls became very popularity. They were the perfect accessory for the little black dress. Black and white color combinations were very chic. Other popular pearl colors were champagne, coffee, lemon yellow, cream white and gray. Pearl strand were usually very short so they could be seen above a modest neckline.

In 1950´s many fashion designer built jewelry in the clothes. Rhinestones were stitched onto dresses, belts or embellished collars. Pearls were beaded onto hats, chignon, hair wraps and purses. Rhinestone jewelry were highly desirable.

Costume jewelry grew in size, the trend for cocktail jewelry emerged. Cocktail ring were designed to be oversized statement pieces. They were made of large fake diamonds and translucent stones that reflected light.

Cocktail rings were made also clusters and rhinestones, pearls and colored gems. Most were round but some designer shaped them into shake-like lines, atomic stars, sunbursts and geometric bands.

Jewelry Fashion in 60´s

1960´s jewelry trends include Mod or Pop Art colors: black and white, yellow and green, pink and red.

In 1960´s jewelry designers became bolder and more expressive. Costume jewelry looked very much same as the previous decade. Gold colored pearls and sparkling paste remained a popular choice in 1960´s.

Jewelry designer began to experiment more with the ideas of creating textured surface to the jewelry. Textured gold was popular in the late 1950´s and remained so into the 1960´s. Additional textures also emerged. A gritty effect dulling the shine of gold was created by fusing gold onto gold. Crumpled and hammered textures were also popular.

Leave your comment below if you have been child one of the presented decade. If you remember any jewelry that have been worn one of the this blog post decade, it would be so interesting to see photos of them or you can simply described the jewelry.
